PIXEL IMAGE VR.
Pixel Image, a property marketing agency in India wanted to take their work to the next level by offering a premium service-VR goggles that could be used by clients to explore properties virtually. So i was brought in to create the platform on which the VR visuals could be experienced. This was my first time doing freelance work for another company and definitely the moment that bridged my amateur design work to my professional work. On top of this there were many restrictions that I had to adhere to while designing, which made the task much more challenging.
Create a cardboard based VR goggle set that has the the lens manoeuvrability (side to side, forward and back) that consumer VR goggles have. The goggles must also be restricted to the materials absolutely necessary (velcro, cardboard and lens) and be made for simple self assembly by stamp manufacture.
The final product met the project brief and was ready for stamp manufacture as requested. Other details include the fact that it was made suitable for a variation of facial shapes and sizes due to its curvature that inhibited a comfortable fitting. A safe and adaptable phone fitting was also added, wide spacial vision and of course side-to-side lens manoeuvrability and the ability to increase/decrease the screen focus. The goggles were also designed in such a way so that they could be flattened, packed and shipped within minimal user assembly.
